“Time stands still as I take a deep breath. There is nothing else to say. The monster has been set free, and he won’t be at peace until I’m lying on this very floor in a puddle of my own blood”. Indebted, is written by the dynamic duo of J.L. Beck and C. Hallman, is book one in the King Crime Family Book Series. It is a Dark Mafia Romance; it is gritty, sinister and full of brokenness that it just yanked me in and I couldn’t get out. It is centered around Amara and Enzo. Amara is simply a debt owed and Enzo has come to collect. Enzo is definitely an Anti-Hero in this series, with him having met his match in Amara. This is a fast burn, but will Enzo look to Amara as his North Star or will he continue to be a lone wolf and trust no one in his world as a mafia king? This book ends in a cliffhanger. You have been warned. I cannot wait for book two! This deals with some dark themes and can be considered a trigger for some.
