Carter hated woods and forests. Always had. He blamed his dad. When Carter was a kid, his dad had told him this story about some kids he once knew who had found the body of a girl in the woods. She had been dismembered.

Limbs hidden under piles of leaves. They caught the dude who killed her, but never found her head.

When the world started to end, not with a whimper or a bang but with a slow, whistling sigh, Meg didn't care.

He lay in the crisp white drift, legs and arms splayed, a perfect snow angel. His failing retinas stared up at the bright blue sky. The storm had passed.

This was so beautiful, which is an odd thing to say about a thriller book. This author is one of my go to authors, especially for thriller and she has come so far. This was amazing. I have never gasped and reacted so much before. I was shocked, and i thought i had understood what was going on, i even explained my theories to my boyfriend. i sat here reading the book thinking i was so clever for catching on, no. I was very much far off it, and that’s so incredible. The plot and the story as a whole is a delightful mystery in itself. I can’t explain it without giving spoilers, but this is the best thriller book i have ever read. It was such an easy read too, i never once got bored and even though i did find some of the writing awkward, it just made the characters feel more real and didn’t even bother me as much.

However this book spoke of many things i didn’t like, and was very much fat phobic which i really disliked, but besides that the book was enjoyable.

As with all CJ’s books, I never saw these twists coming. Really did not want to put this down. The ending of almost every chapter being a cliffhanger was so frustrating but also genius. Love love love it!
