Lengthy and mellifluous prose about feelings and relationships; Swann’s Way is orders of magnitude beyond reasonable. Sentences stretch out as if in support of a national shortage of periods and planning to stop at the end of the next paragraph is such a vile feeling especially when you're an easily distracted person like me. However, parts of it definitely struck gold and were memorable. It was evocative and created a strong sense of time and place - despite being drawn out. I am glad - in hindsight - that I read this book, and considering to read the next volume.
