Ascenders High School of the Recently Departed (Book One)

Walker Callaghan, 17, dies and has an epic adventure of an after-lifetime. She finds herself in the Midst where she will attend a high school for the departed called The Academy. Walker falls in love with bad boy Daniel Reid. Despite the threat of soul extinguishment, she helps him return to life.
