If Girl with Guitar was about Kylie finding herself and finding love, Girl on Tour was about her trying to keep both and manage a blossoming career at the same time. In this book, Kylie and Trace's relationship is brand new and both of their careers are going places. (Hers is moving in a better direction than his, honestly.) They're very much in love, but it's not easy to maintain a relationship on the road. It's even more difficult when you're apart more often than together. 

Where I was lukewarm to Trace in Girl with Guitar, I found myself pretty much entirely head over heels for him in this book. He was trying to put himself back together, but struggling a bit with that when Kylie wasn't around. She was his center. She kept him from heading down the bad path that was calling his name. Of course, it didn't help matters any that the woman he was on tour with was a hot mess. Her actions definitely affected him and made the struggle that much worse. I loved Trace but he absolutely shattered my heart in this book, but NOT for the reason you might think. But there were some very real tears with this book. 

Girl on Tour was a fantastic continuation of Kylie and Trace's stories. It was just as raw and real as the first book – and maybe even more so because it showed them handling not only life things, but career and love ones, too. It had its share of hot and sexy moments, as well as its share of those that made me an emotional wreck. (There was some humor, too.) I love well-developed secondary characters, especially when they're important to the overall story. We got more of Trace's sisters, Claire Ann and Rae, which made me happy. I also loved the addition of Mia and and Lily to this book. I was uncertain about Mia in the beginning because of her supposed history with Trace, but I really grew to like her character during the course of this book. 

I finished this book and leapt right into the third and final book, Girl in Love, because I needed something to soothe my heart after the events of this book. I was legitimately concerned for the future of Kylie and Trace, but I also trust Caisey not to wreck me without putting me back together in the end.
