This was Protector Romance/Romantic Suspense with a twist!
Jace Drakos is part of a huge family, he has 16 siblings! All but one are adoptees from around the Globe. He knows how it feels to be abandoned, to feel unwanted, unloved. When he meets Bonnie at a BBQ at his brother's house he is instantly attracted to her. But Bonnie has some major walls he's going to have to scale!
Bonnie was a teen mom and she has rocked being a single mum to adorable but bedevilled twins! She got her heart broken once and refuses to troop men in and out of her children's lives. She aims to take things slow with the SEAL with the dimple. But if she goes too slow does she risk losing him altogether?
This book had zero miscommunication or angst between the MMC's. They may have some baggage to work through and Bonnie has some trust issues to work on but there is no 3rd act breakup! We get to see Jace the man and Jace the warrior. How he compartmentalises his life to be able to function when on a mission. What he looks forward to coming home to.
Bonnie's kids need to be tagged and tracked, they could take over the world if you take your eye off them for 5 minutes! There wasn't huge amounts of spice but the intimacy and nervousness is ramped to perfection!
I've read all the books in this series and Midnight Delta but it really can be read on its own.
