Lydia and her family have been captured by a drug cartel. Her father had been the cartels accountant but when he began working with the DEA to topple the cartel, they are taken to the jungle. Clint and his team of SEALS are dropped into the jungle to rescue the Hidalgo family, Lydia's father is needed to testify against some corrupt DEA agents and a slimy Senator. But once they find the family they realise that Lydia has been horrifically tortured and it takes them a gruelling 5 days to get to their extraction point. Once back stateside Clint spends time with Lydia whilst she recovers. But the danger is not over and they are soon on the run from corrupt law enforcement. As they run for Lydia's life they finally give in to the intense, slow burn, passion that has been simmering between them since he rescued her. There is the added bonus of meeting some of her hinky deep web contacts, who are a protective bunch! I'm really hoping we continue to meet them in further books of this series!!! I also loved that although Clint and Lydia get their HEA, the story does not end as there is still danger afoot and aimed at her sister, Beth! Excitement, passion, intrigue and snarky banter between the queen dork and nerd king is adorable. I fell in love with these characters and was so sad when I got to the end, I sooo wanted more. Fabulous read!!!
