Calia Read really knows how to serve up some angsty goodness!! I probably should've read book 1 first because maybe it would've changed the way I saw some characters initially, but seeing as I read another book out of order in the series I just pick the ones that interest me the most because they're still practically standalone. Love this college romance between two broken people who would prefer to spend most of their free time reading and keeping to themselves. 

Macsen and Emilia had serious chemistry and really understood each other. The revenge plot was hard to understand at first but also created a lot of conflicting emotions. I love scenes that are layered like Emilia falling for him while knowing her ulterior motives and her brother's plan make that almost impossible. My biggest complaint is the ending felt so abrupt I wish we could've seen them together officially after all the dust has settled and they can have a normal relationship free of secrets and revenge.

While I enjoyed the first Sloan Brothers book, I thoroughly and completely loved this one.
