I quite liked this one, it is slightly different as it is not set in River Heights but in Phoenix, and Nancy’s companions are George and Bess.

I liked how much of this took place in a farmhouse, it is quite a lovely setting for such a mystery, with trapdoors and secret passages. It involves also riding horses in the mountains and exploring ghost towns, and I loved reading about all this.

The mystery isn’t very mysterious, but I still have a fun time with this series.

3.5 actually... maybe I'll even change it to 4.

I loved this series very much as a child but now I find them unengaging. They don't capture my attention the way they used to. However, they will always hold a special place in my heart as they are my first foray into the mystery genre.
