I think this book had a really great message about equality in dress codes and how the scrutiny of dress codes effects young girls in more than just surface level. I didn’t love some of the subplots. Some didn’t even feel finished or fully fleshed out. Some of the vaped addicted brother scenes made me roll my eyes. While I think it’s a really important topic to address with middle schoolers, this just felt like too much in the wrong story.
