One more dark fairytale for the soul!

I adore the mermaids seen in this darker portrayal as murderous creatures. The gore sports for kids, the people who act like surgeons, and the bizarre, cult-like atmosphere of a small town are all wonderful aspects of this story. When they sliced people open, it was really graphic; although the description might make your skin crawl with terror, it was done smoothly.

Overall, despite the fact that this book contains some difficult-to-swallow terms, I enjoyed the reading experience.
