This book felt a bit random to this series. I think it could have worked just as a standalone personally because we really didn’t know anyone that appeared except the FMC. It was still a decent book and did follow the similar outline as the first three books, but just added in a Hollywood actor to the mix. Like I said a bit random. I also felt the instalove was the strongest in this one too. Now what I can say was that the twist did pleasantly surprise me. I really thought one thing and crazy enough something completely different happened which helped me rate it around the same as the others. So it wasn’t my favorite but had some notable pieces to it.

this book is changing. like, reading this makes me believe if true love is existed. the connection between Laiken & Boden is beyond my expectation. reading this makes me understand that there will be someone right in the right time. this book made me guessing about the actual culprit, and every page is giving another curiosity and suspenseful atmosphere. but I wish there would be more explanation of few things that I have been questioning. however, this book is perfect! I love how Ms. Cowles created the story and attachment.

Lover of Romance 

Shattered Sea is the 4th book in the Tattered and Torn series and in this book we take a small step away from the family, in the previous books and focus on the heroine who is has a close connection to them. In this book we have the story between Boden and Laiken. Boden is a actor who has come to do a special on horses with a reclusive rancher. Then we have Laiken, who is a artist and runs a art gallery in the town. These two meet and have an instant connection that only grows very quickly. Their relationship adds more depth when they both have to face up to the pains of their past and learn to rely on each other through it all. 

Shattered Sea was such a solid installment in the series. I will be honest in that this is not my favorite of installments. I had a hard time getting into this one, I am not sure why. Maybe I just wasn't invested much in either characters at first. However, despite its slow start, it definitely quickly quickened in the pacing and became much more engaging. I really was drawn into the trauma that both characters are having to face and their pasts come back to haunt them. There is such a level of intensity in seeing them overcome the ghosts of the past and become stronger as individuals and as a team. 

Overall I had a fantastic time with this installment and can't wait for the finale!
