I love Catherine Egan, and I will never not read everything she publishes. It's especially great to compare this series to her Last Days of Tian Di series, which also centres around a young girl burdened with more responsibility than she can (at first) handle. The last quarter of the book in particular really sets the stage for the third book, which I eagerly await.

I read the first book as an ARC from NetGalley and loved it, so I have no excuse for having sat on the sequel for so long. This book was even better than the first! We get to explore a new part of the world with much of the cast of the first book and some fresh new additions. We get to learn some more about the nature of Julia's ability to disappear along with her, and we end on a heck of a cliffhanger!! Cannot wait to read the next book, I might just check out the ebook from my library and read it now...
