A Patchwork Family
Reviews

This is a beautiful story about finding yourself amongst people that you soin realise are your very own Patchwork Family We all have Patchwork families of some form and this just highlights this perfectly. Beautiful characters, location and plot Would recommend to anyone, will certainly be looking into seeking more of Cathy Bramley books

This book cracked me! An astounding show of loyalty, perseverance, and the wonders of what a patchwork family can do. I am a firm believer that you get to choose your family and this is exactly what Gina Moss did and they chose her back. Gina spends her time supporting, cheering on and being the optimism for everyone else. When Gina has to find herself again after divorce her self belief has depleted. This book was an emotional and passionate read. Each character Gina, Violet, Bing, Delphine, Dexter, Cat, Beau, Rosie, Paige, Rebecca, Maria, Stanley and Una each have their own story, their own losses, demons but they all have one thing in common... they each get to choose who is in their family. After a heart wrenching loss the some of the characters including Gina find themselves in the impossible position of fighting for their home, their livelihoods including Gina's childminding business. Theres not an emotion I didnt feel reading this story, each page I was invested further. A true authenticity given by Bramley. The children in this books played just as big a part in the story as the adults. I felt overwhelmed with pride, love and grief from how well written this story was. Feeling as though I was truly a part of this story too. For a stunning, sunny, real and empowering but heartbreaking at parts read, I could not recommend this book more.
