The Cruelest Kind of Hate

That book was actually ridiculous. The first few pages were already giving off pick me vibes and of course she was a struggeling dancer with a sick mom who gave up college to look after her brother. It was such a cliché but I would've gotten over it if not for literally everything else in this abomination of a book.

The title is the furthest thing from the plot that could ever exist because he hated her for a total of five minutes - which was actually insane because she really was a bitch to him when she ruined his car. It was actually crazy of her to be mad at him because he boxed her car in. As if she wasn't literally parking on his reserved spot. As if she didn't t-bone his car when he had to resume his job inside and couldn't let her out. She had no reason whatsoever to be angry at him. She's lucky he didn't press charges. I guess she could've pled being mentally unstable though because she literally had to be crazy to wreck an expensive car just because he wanted his rightful parking spot.

That insane plotline aside, they hated each other for maybe 5 seconds before they started fucking each other. It was actually ridiculous. He acted like they were already married for five years with a baby on the way when they didn't even sleep together yet. Their "connection" came out of nowhere. She was supposed to have all these walls up but still immediately opens up to him? Nothing in this book was believable. Or made sense, really.

The whole fratboy housing situation and their ages was also confusing as fuck. I'd gathered she was 22 in the beginning of the book but I had no clue abaout the hockey players. Judging from how they acted they were 5.

The dialogue was so weird as well. Everything felt orchestrated or unmotivated or lacked finesse. It was truly exhausting to witness.

The book wasn't even bad in a way that makes it fun to hate. I was just irrtated, bored and annoyed. I was over this book and every unbelievable plot progression but pure spite kept me going. I was going to finish this book no matter what to give it the 1 star it deserved. It wasn't easy. It wasn't fun. And god knows how many brain cells it cost me. But at least I can say now I really hated the book in its entirety.
