3.5☆? my friends said that it is like jjk and now that i read it, there are a few similarities, i suppose. i can't get into the characters that much but the plot is interesting, so i will definitely get further into it. so far, my favourite character is Aki and after that, i think, Power. Denji is alright, i suppose, an easy guy with rather easy motivations. and i am quite skeptical about Makima as of now.

Qué pena lo del auto de Kobeni. No sé cómo seguirá el manga después de la locura completa que fue el arco pasado y el final de lo ocurrido con Reze. Me parece acertado el concepto que Fujimoto le ha dado al infierno. Cuando Pingxi, aterrada, dice "Son trascendentales. Demonios que nunca han experimentado la muerte (...) El demonio que posee un nombre aterrador no está mirando", me hace pensar en la rescritura de estos seres infernales en la ficción en general. Si bien ya es una cuestión habitual que muchos de ellos representen algo, aquí se mezcla la banalidad (la motosierra, por ejemplo) y se hace de ella una cuestión de representaciones. No es el objeto, sino el miedo que producen. Qué panelazos ofrece. El Santa Claus/demonio de la oscuridad y el dilema del zombie me parece algo apreciable.

           Este ha sido mi tomo favorito hasta ahora. Aki no fue mi personaje favorito en un principio, y después de estos últimos capítulos la cosa cambia enormemente. Es desgarrador ver cómo Denji trata de convencerlo de que pare mientras por dentro hay una escena tan intima como el recuerdo de la infancia de Aki. La violencia en contraplano al juego, el aprecio de unos amigos que comenzaron un trabajo y terminaron siendo una familia. Lo que vendrá, no lo dudo, será terrible.

I think I’m really warming up to the characters now, especially Aki. At first, I was really frustrated that they killed off his love interest Himeno without even truly making her important (ergo, she wasn’t important at all and existed just for the sake of existing) but she’s done a lot after her death. Having her memory be the reason that Aki walks the line between wanting to be dead and wanting to live does a lot of justice to her name. 
On top of that, I’m really happy that we got moments of Denji just being a teenager with Reze even if obvi there are more sinister things happening behind the scenes. There’s been a lot more emphasis on Denji’s humanity, and having him spend time exploring emotions with a woman who doesn’t hold power over him was really fun to watch

Devil Extermination Special Division 4 is in serious trouble as a devil has sent a whole team of assassins to take Denji’s heart. In order to survive the onslaught, Denji, Power and Aki will have to get stronger. But is Denji smart enough to learn how to control his devil powers? Can you can teach an old chainsaw-dog-devil new tricks? -- VIZ Media

Chainsaw Man, Vol. 4

I’m back to enjoying and being invested in this series! I liked how they used all the destruction and utter mess of the third volume to push the development and plot in this volume. Makima’s status as a sort of untouchable character is still really annoying because she’s not dynamic or likable enough to deserve it. Aki is really growing on me so he’d better survive a couple more volumes, and I really want to see the relationship between Power and Denji evolve.

           I’m ngl, I’m a lil upset with the direction in which everything is going, mostly because they killed off one of the characters I was starting to get invested in, and I don’t really know where they’re going to go from here.

In order to achieve the greatest goal in human history—to touch a boob—Denji will risk everything in a fight against the dangerous Bat Devil. But will getting what he wants actually make him happy...? -- VIZ Media

I definitely appreciate the introduction of the new characters. You can tell that they’re still sorting out the dynamics and the balance, but I look forward to seeing them all develop together
