It's an easy read though I'm quite mad at the fact that there was ZERO diversity and the PLOT was as useless as anything else in the book. The characters are SO STUPID it's hilarious how they can't recognise and put two and two together when the MC disguises herself. I just—
Basically:
-waste of time
-quick read
-trashy beauty and the beast retelling
-no diversity
-no plot
-no character development

Fantastic retelling of the little mermaid. Chanda hahn is an amazing writer and the story is full of twist turns and loveable characters

           The third book of the series and they’re improving each book! This one focused on re-telling ‘The Little Mermaid’ which I love. 

I loved how it started differently, with an accidental murder and Meri running away. I felt the urgency of the story right from the beginning. I love learning new details about Lady Eville and the sisters each book, and how questions are still being answered about previous books with the inclusion of Rosalie and her baby. The romance in this book was good as well, and it differed from the previous two books in that Brennon seemed as in love, if not more, than Meri and really pushed for their relationship, which I liked. Vasili’s character was one of my favourites too. I liked the plot with the sea witch and her mermaid daughters siphoning Meri’s powers. It had a good amount of surprise plots to keep me wanting to read more. 

As with the first two books, I really enjoy the plots and I’m enjoying the characters more and more with each new book and storyline. I just wish the books were longer and more developed, as the relationships are quite rushed for me and I love as much world-building and plot development as possible. It also occasionally tows the line between being a bit too stereo-typical and predictable, for example, each daughter being married off to a prince, but I also love a classic, happy ending. I much prefer Brennon the pirate/sailor though!
