I LOVED reading this series when I was younger. I was instantly intrigued by the modern-day fairytale and could not put the book down. However, rereading this book, I have found issues with that I did not notice before and that is the only reason I have given this book 4 stars. 

While I loved the characters and was enchanted with Mina's story, this book felt rushed at times and underdeveloped. Furthermore, I would have liked to see more of a development in Mina's character at the end of the book.

i never write reviews for books, even when i love them, but i feel like this deserves explaining. the idea for this book and the majority of the plot line is so clever. like why didn't i think of that kind of clever. the writing is not very good, though. it is very inconsistent, and too wordy. i felt like it was at times more of a children's book than a young adult book. mostly because of how frequently the writer uses the main characters name. also as others have mentioned the amount of typos is astronomical. i mean i could see if it was just an extra comma here or there or a misspelled word buried in a paragraph, but seriously? did anyone even read this before they printed it? sometimes the typos are so bad that i had to reread a sentence 5 or 6 times to figure out for sure what was actually meant. also the ending was looking so redeeming, until i learned that everyone forgot everything that had happened except for mina. what? honestly, it was lazy writing, unintriguing, and just irritating. i am about to read the second book because as i stated before the idea is such a good idea that i am hoping for it to be better, and for the ridiculous ending to be rectified...also i must add, how can we possibly believe that after only making it through 3 tales in the first book that it is even possible for the writer to live long enough to write mina through 200 tales?

Mina Grime is unlucky, unpopular and uncoordinated, that is until she saves her crush's life on a field trip, changing her High School status from loser to hero overnight. But with her new found fame brings misfortune in the form of an old family curse come to light. For Mina is descended from the Brothers Grimm and has inherited all of their unfinished fairy tale business. Which includes trying to outwit a powerful Story from making her its next fairytale victim. To break the fairy tale curse on her family and make these deadly occurrences stop, Mina must finish the tales until the very Grimm end.

This follows the story of Mina who is a descendant of the brothers Grimm, she is subject to a curse of fairy tales and needs to complete a series of quests.
While I really enjoyed the story I can't bring myself to pay $3.99 for the next book since each book is not that long to begin with. There were a few spelling mistakes but not to the point where it destroyed the story. I liked the slight twist that it took with the romance, although it was quite predictable. I personally thought it was a great way to show how the curse is taking over her life. 
I would recommend people to check this book out, especially if you could find it for free on your e-reader.

It was a little slow paced and I didn’t like the character that much, but it was entertaining and I want to read the rest of the series. Hopefully it goes up from now on!

This book had potential. It had a fun and interesting plot about fairytales which typically thrills me. BUT, the writing in this book was atrocious; it made the entire book entirely unbelievable and I *almost* didn't finish it-- that's serious, y'all. 

Starting with the good-- Hahn had a great idea for a book. She really did. I love the Grimm aspects and like I said before, the plot really had potential. If someone else had written this, it probably would've gotten at least 4 eggs.

The other good thing was the ending. I thought it was completely unexpected and honestly saved this book from the 1 egg of doom. Props to Hahn for that twist! 

Honestly, everything else just didn't do it for me. Mina was obnoxious- a little Bella Swan-y. Brody, first of all, had a terrible name and was WAY too forced for my liking. As I've said, the writing just does these characters wrong. There are so many conversations, descriptions, etc. that are just entirely unbelieveable and cringe-worthy that completely decrease the validity of the book. 

In addition, there were at least 3-5 very obvious grammatical errors that grated on my nerves. Fire yo' editor, Hahn! 

Personally, I can't recommend this book to anyone who isn't a young teen. I think some highschoolers would enjoy this but it is definitely a more Middle Grade book. Adults, skip this one.

I was kinda enjoying this but just not in a gripping way. I decided I would much rather read the ARCs I just received.

It was very good, one part threw me off but I think that was on my part for reading too fast. I loved this book otherwise. I Can't wait to read the others! Im interested to see how far the author is going to continue writing these, because technically, there are very many possible plot for this. Well done

I like the concept of this book, and I'm really curious to find out what happens next. The baseline of the story is amazing and ingenious, however the execution is lacking. What bothered me most was how dull it all seemed to me, almost unnatural. 

The characters didn't feel real and I found Mina to be a little dim... I understand she is supposed to come of as naive, but there is a line between naive and just plain dim; sadly she crossed it. Jared is definitely my favorite character, and I hope he appears a lot more in the other books. He is cryptic, complex and intriguing.

The plot itself was unexciting and included a lot of "nothing" in my opinion. The plot seemed to revolve around her ordinary life instead of the curse (Problem no?) By halfway, I was just reading it to see what happened at the end, and then... DISAPPOINTMENT. What just happened? Oh I see. The easy road was taken... Comparable to the "I woke up from a dream" ending.

In brief, I like the concept, may give the second book a shot, but I'm hoping for A LOT more Jared and better character & plot development.

Well, I was expecting a lot better. 
This book had a GREAT idea, but it was written very poorly, with multiple errors in the grammar, and if you ask me, Brody was too cream-cheese with Mina. He was almost so sickly sweet that it made me want to gag. 
Jared was better, though. Brody coddled Mina too much, but Jared was more lenient with her, and I liked him better until he got jealous in the cafeteria two days after THEY JUST MET. Too soon. At that point, I was beyond caring what happened to either of them. 
But me being me, I'll read the next book because if there's one thing I can't stand, it's leaving a book series unfinished. I will finish this. . . eventually.
