With lots of examples from the IDEO books (and even otherwise), Tim Brown tries to touch almost every product/service industry where design thinking made a difference. It's a short read, with simple language, and no nonsense text.

Good choice for understanding what is design thinking about

I liked the real world examples that the book show but I would expected more exercises and more practical advice to develop design thinking in our own projects.

Design thinking is not new. Some examples in the book are pretty old - Nokia OVI whaat? If anything, there are a number of useful quotes here and there, a peek into how things are done at IDEO but also examples that you probably might have already been exposed to. For example, writing ideas on post-its and sticking stickers on the pieces that you agree with (never knew it was called the "butterfly test"). Also, prototyping, brainstorming, the experience economy and the customer blueprint. Nothing radically new if you are looking for something radically new. 

Still, a good book to read if you're wondering what on earth is design thinking. As Brown says, there is a difference between being a designer and thinking like one. So it really is... design thinking

How to summarize by feelings about this book? I think I left a post-it on every page! This articulated the importance of design in organizations and in finding solutions to problems that were commonly held or thought to be outside the realm of design.
