it was a cliché but it was a fast cute romance to read

What better way to finish the series and my 100 books this year goal than with another 5 star read! 

Carolina and Rex are another fav couple of mine. I'm obsessed with the Lane brothers and their banter. 

This was a friends-to-lovers and it was just too good. The longing, the banter, the remarkable storyline. 

I'll admit, I'm so glad I'm done with this series. I don't think I want to read another book that ends with the protagonists having babies for a looooong time. 

I'm sort of fed up with the notion that they're happy only when they have kids. I'll admit these dilfs and milfs are to die for. But I preferred them when I didn't have to hear them say, "we're pregnant" every two seconds 😭

That's all for my review. This is my second fav books for sure.

i rate my romances based on whether the couple had chemistry and if they gave me a buzz but i just didn't feel anything for this relationship. they gave me no reason to root for them

           Starting off with acknowledging that this was in no way a bad book it just didn't hit me as hard as other romances I have read recently but I still highly enjoyed it. 

In this book we follow Carolina and Rex, best friends after he attempts to bribe her in exchange for school help, and we see as they try to deny their feelings for each other which are obvious to everyone around them. These feelings are heightened when Carolina asks Rex to take her virginity and he agrees. As the book goes on there are quite a few time skips leading through the relationship and up to the reveal of her short-lived marriage to James (a professor at college) who blackmailed her with nudes and refused to give her a divorce even after cheating on her (and others) countless times. Throughout this book we see Rex and Carolina explore their relationship and actually start to take it seriously and when Rex finally learns of what James has been doing he is there for Carolina every step of the way, even hacking into James' accounts and devices to try and help however he can. The book ends with another time skip where things are all a lot happier with families and children and owned homes which was adorable. One thing I will see is that even though these books are standalones, I wish I had read them in 'order' as they give me Off-Campus vibes in a sense. 

I had a fun time reading this book and I loved the characters and the concept but there's just something about it that was lacking a little for me to rate it any higher. That being said I did enjoy this book and it was a fun light read and I am in no way disputing that.

This book was personally hard for me to get through because I too had a gamer best friend that I loved. This book was almost like the what if had happened so it was bittersweet for me to read. Getting past my own emotional connection, I loved Charity's writing and the story. It is starting to bother me the constant theme I'm seeing of "I have a secret that can break everything, I'm not going to just tell the person, no wait I am, just kidding they found out already". I'm someone who values honesty so this triggers me a bit, but the rest of the story is amazing enough for me to overlook this. I loved Rex and Carolina, they deserve the love they got and I loved watching their relationship unfold. A great ending to this series.
