This was the worst book in the series since the second book. Content warning for sexual abuse. The new characters are interesting but it feels like the story stands too much on charming character interactions over any mystery plot. Some plot lines happen off page and it seems like they occurred in a short story, leaving those who only read the main series with whiplash. These books sometimes feel like a bunch of subplots stitched together with a main paranormal romance, which I don’t mind, I just wish there were a more streamlined main plot. Despite all my problems with this installment, I’ll still continue the series when I have the time.

Great read! One of my favorites up with Dead to the World! Interesting to read the books while watching the show at the same time, as they've taken some  plot points from later books, and put them into earlier seasons. In this case, the fact that Bill was pursuing Sookie for Queen Sophie-Anne so she could use her telepathic abilities, and Sookie finding out that she's part-fairy.

These books are honestly so enjoyable and the perfect length for a quick afternoon read. Next time no sexual assault tho okay charlaine?????

After the last book, I was hoping to have more vampires in this one, and Charlaine Harris did not let me down! Sookie gets further immersed in the world of the dead, makes some new friends, finds more trouble, and starts dating a hot weretiger. Plus, we find out two big secrets involving Sookie's own background and her relationship with Bill.

I wish I could say that I could say I love this book, but I just loathe Quinn. I'm not sure if it's because he's not all that funny and he never made me laugh or the constant use of 'babe' when he addressed Sookie. Mostly, I think I didn't like him because he wasn't Eric. And I would have given this book five stars if someone had just staked Bill to get it over with. 

However, I loved Amelia the witch and I am so happy that she will be in the next book. I hope she can find a way to fix Bob. And in this book we finally get the great 'Sookie has faerie blood' revelation. 

I really am excited for the next book All Together Dead!
