All of Newford is threatened, human and mythic beings alike. This is absolutely one of my favorite books of all time!  This is absolutely one of my favorite books of all time!  The multicultural characters and mythologies are blended into a seamless work of joy that is a perfect urban fantasy.  I will admit that there are some places where the age of the book begins to show (do record stores exist anymore?), but I do not find those distracting at all.  I would love to spend some time in Newford, hanging out downtown with all of these wonderful folks.
