I read this after it was included in a list of nonfiction that reads like fiction. I wouldn't say that. I never really cared about Christopher Marlowe and this book didn't change my mind. I ended up abandoning it after the third or fourth chapter that ended saying something to the effect of '...so this line of inquiry is a dead end." If you want a scholarly book on Marlowe's death, this seems like it.
