i finished it in one sitting, that’s how engrossed i am with the story! this is really nice, it feels like a fresh breeze in the middle of summer on a countryside. i love the realistic family dynamics so much because it hits like home at times.. the romance between frank and scarlett is also a nice additional. i just wish that it could’ve tackle about cliff’s condition in more depth but i guess that’s just how it is. i’m glad i picked up this book! 

it got me emotional at some scenes :’)) this book is just so pure.

the only thing i don’t resonate with is with the God lectures because i am not a religious person at all but i still appreciate a good story and respect each character’s faiths.

Heaven Adore

This was such a cute read! It was emotional, yet very still light-hearted. 

I love how it took place in the 1960s. How the author wrote this novel, it felt like a very old-fashioned book. And even the cover looks old-fashioned. Don't you just love it!?

The woven in Christian themes were absolutely beautiful. A main theme was trusting God in the hard times. Currently, I'm dealing with a trial, so this definitely encouraged me in a lot of ways. 

And, I must compliant how the light romance was done perfectly. Although Scarlet liked the neighbor boy, Frank, she 1) wasn't consumed about it, and 2), they didn't kiss! That made me so happy. Honestly, I wouldn't even call it romance; it was basically just a crush. I'm not a boy-crazy girl, so I liked that a lot.

All and all, this was a great YA and I would recommend it to those 12 and up!

An unmatched sticky summer aesthetic. This one makes me tear up every time. 

(& the extent to which I related to Scarlett this time around was insane. this story is so personal, for so many reasons. I'll never stop loving it.)

Reread November 2018:

No matter how many times I read this, it feels like I'm reading it for the very first time.

This book never fails to touch a part of my heart that few books can. The poignancy, raw emotion, vivid characters, and the dreamy summer setting are ingrained in me forever.

"Your voice is sweeter than peach pie and stronger than steel nails and softer than summer clouds."

Oh my stars...I'm speechless right now.

This book was raw, heartbreaking, and beautiful. I loved everything about it, even though it crushed my feels with a hammer. (Which seems like a common thing for January's reads. ;P) 

Basically, everyone needs to read this book. I don't often leave a book wanting to reread it again right away, but Chasing Jupiter made me want to do just that. It's just so...perfect.

(And can we talk about Scarlett and Frank? THEY'RE SO ADORABLE.)
