i started this at 8pm and just finished it at 2am - there was a 0% chance of me putting it down. as soon as the foot hit the gas there were NO brakes fully out of commission. i’m so happy i snagged this during SYKD because i’m definitely hooked on the series. the cliff hanger for this is going to drive me insane until i know what happens 🙃

I enjoyed this book a lot. It has a lot of action, secrets, betrayals, arranged marriage, exploding twist, and a hell of a cliffhanger. There were some scenes/emotions that felt a little rushed, but the pace of the story is good and it feels good to skip the drama :))

I like Roselyne because she let herself live. Yes, she was in a strange land, but she took it as an opportunity to finally live and I was so happy Declan gave her the freedom to learn how to defend herself and didn't lock her inside. I was kind of mad when Declan decided to keep that part of the truth from her and I was (view spoiler)[shocked to see she forgave him that easily, but like I said, better to skip the drama :))) (hide spoiler)]. 

Kara is amazing. I loved her from the first moment she entered the book. I actually choked when I read Callum's name :)) This is what happens when you read Blood and Ash too many times. One name and my first thought was "can we trust him?" :))) but yes, he is spectacular and I wonder if something will happen between him and Kara. 

Now, I suggest this to be read only by the author and those who already read the book. I will mark it as a spoiler, but if you decide to read it, remember, it was your choice!!!! (view spoiler)[Essi was a mystery to me at first because she was too nosy. And for this, I didn't like her very much. Then was the library scene when she just happen to walk by. And when Rose went to her room and found her in front of a little mirror "putting cosmetics", well... I was 100% Rose shouldn't trust her! Besides, she insisted to remain at court to help Roselyn adjust! Yep, this literally screamed that something was fishy. I was not surprised by Sloane's actions. They said a book was missing?? And He just happen to go around carrying a book in an ancient language??? Well... From the moment he appeared, something felt off about him. The way his conversation with Declan went on about the curse, the way he just happened to spill Declan's secret to Rose!!!! Come on, you thought they shared every secret???? At that moment I knew he was going to do something bad. And voila! (hide spoiler)] So yes, in the beginning, it started as suspicions, but after some of their actions, I was 100% sure they are traitors. 

THAT ENDING! WOW!!! That twist in fate was mind-blowing and I have a feeling the world-building and character growth will be amazing. I hope Umbrath will appear more in the next books. He spoke 0 words, but I fell for him. I have a feeling history is not how they know it and a lot of things will go ballistic, and I can't wait for it.
