Foul Lady Fortune was amazing, but Foul Heart Huntsman? This book exceeded all of my expectations! The myriad of cameos and Easter eggs expertly embedded by Chloe Gong in this narrative adds an extra layer of delight to the reading experience. Reading the These Violent Delights duology before diving into this book adds so much to the experience. Foul Heart Huntsman serves as the thrilling culmination not just of the "Foul Lady Fortune" series but also as a grand finale to the overarching Secret Shanghai saga. Having delved into the These Violent Delights duology beforehand, I found immense joy in spotting the delightful cameos and uncovering the cleverly woven Easter eggs sprinkled throughout. It's akin to returning home, greeted by familiar faces and intertwined narratives. Chloe Gong masterfully ties up loose ends, providing the closure and answers we've been yearning for since Our Violent Delights, ensuring that each character receives the poignant resolution they so rightly deserve. In Foul Lady Fortune, while Rosalind takes the lead, the narrative beautifully unravels the layers of Celia, Alisa, and Phoebe, showcasing their pivotal roles and empowering agency. These formidable women are the driving force behind every twist and turn, their decisions shaping the course of events and their bravery shining through in moments of rescue and redemption. The first half of this book was fantastic, well written, super interesting as a plot. Seeing J & R was so fun, that chapter was my absolute favourite, I loved the historical accuracy even though it’s a work of fantasy & surrealism, the last 30% lost me, I didn’t like the pheobe and Silas plot, it felt too drawn out, the bombings were hard to follow through. I had to just skip to the ending, but I love love Orion the man he is ugh

I went from absolutely hating the main character in the first books, to loving her so much in the end. I didn’t think a redemption would be possible. There were so many plot twists i didn’t expect and even the side plots had my jaw dropping and heart racing. I loved every single bit of it. However the only problem is that some of it felt a bit repetitive but that’s okay. Overall i loved reading the whole series, it was such a rollercoaster of emotions.

is there a thing called second love team syndrome cuz phoebe and silas took over my fixation for their outstanding performance ! i hope my lil warriors get their own book someday

5/5. this is by far my favourite in the entire series. this series means so much to me.

how can i ever express my over consuming love for this series? how do i put into words my sadness that lies with the ending of this book? the secret shanghai series made me fall in love with books all over again and has consumed my entire being. i’m so sad for this book to end but it was truly amazing i loved this book so much.
