If i had a penny for everytime this book made me laugh, and a penny for everytime this book made me cry, I would be the world's richest person.

 It's not every day that you read a book which has you shaking with both pain and laughter, but my god was this book such a great tale. The perspectives of Claire and Gibbsie was hilarious, but seeing Gibbsie's pain (and in extension, Claire being affected by this pain) from the events in his past, really really hurt your soul. It ached. So much. And the whole way through the book, you think his main pain is his father and sister's death. He's obviously mourning them, but then on top of that, he feels so much guilt, he's literally riddled with it, and you just want to show that none of it was his fault, he was only 6. What could he have done? And Claire is such a good good good friend to him. She so obviously is that caring role, that confident role. The empathiser. She's lovely and does Gibbsie a lovely favour of looking after him so well. Throughout the book, everyone alludes to Mark. I didn't clock on until he returned from India, that Mark, Gibbsie's step brother, is also Lizzie's Sisters' ex Mark. You can see the seeds of doubt and fear which Gibbsie has of mark. How he describes his piercing stares as creepy. How he fears him. Is disgusted by him. No one takes the hint. It's so so hard to read. And then when he finally says it outloud. "You raped me when I was 7 and didn't stop until I was 11" Disgusting. Torcherous. I saw it coming, but at the same time, I was literally in so much pain. I was worried, as this was towards the last 70 pages of the book, that it would never be addressed in this book. But luckily, thank god, Claire finds the note and everything unravels. I'd like to take this paragraph to curse out Lizzie. I hate her. I hate her with a passion. Firstly, her reason for hating Gibbsie was so stupid. He was related to the man who supposedly raped her sister. Big Woop. He doesn't even like the guy. He doesn't even claim Mark. They're not even blood related. On top of that, she acts like it was him who raped her sister. She's an evil bitch who really needs a kick in the teeth. I know the next two books are about her. But dear god she better get a full character revamp because she treated Gerard so bad the entire 5 books, just for it to turn out for him to be the victim and her sister to, essentially, be the predator. So that's my issue with lizzie.

As always the boys of tommen series does not disapoint. I love seeing things from Gerard's perspective and I love the happy ending between Gerard and Claire.
