A novel which is at first about someone who goes to a cabin in the jungle to write a novel, being fed up with modern life, social media, being constantly available, with the state of the world and how much we are responsible for this and so on: the modern predicament.

Not much happens on this retreat, no work on the novel at all. Our protagonist takes drugs, shoots an animal in the river, scares off some kids from a nearby village and gets to know another person and they might fall in love. But all of a sudden, life itself becomes the novel and grabs our lazy novel writer and throws him under the bus.

The story changes, the protagonist changes. We readers change. What does not happen is that no novel gets written. But life takes place, with all its ups and downs.
