Ok so this novel was different and quite interesting. It also seems it is based loosely around a real woman's account on her experience during the time when the Nazi's were occupying Italy. The novel started out with a murder and then from there different views of the characters were accounted for. The father was in between a rock and a hard place when it came to the Germans, partisans, and family. And my goodness the daughter...love and betrayal. On another note.... Not the ending I expected.
