Daphne disappeared shortly after her unhappy marriage, and the people of Red Gap never found out what happened to her. Now, more than a century later, a botany graduate student (Ben) finds himself in the same area. Strangely, Daphne has haunted the men of one particular family for years, driving them to obsession and disaster. Now she appears to Ben, and he must decide whether to answer her call for help.
