A little white lie never hurt anyone... unless that white lie comes from Yukihime. Despite his reluctance to return to the ancient vampire and his promise to leave Japan as soon as possible, Tristan ends up working for an associate of Yukihime's: the leader of the local kitsune. This kitsune also happens to be the same leader who led the attack on Tristan and Ash in France at Lucien's behest. The leader, Akane, has a troll problem and at Ash's calculated encouragement, Tristan agrees to help. Except the job he signed up for turns out to be a complete farce. As all things seem to go for him, a little lie becomes a big problem in the form of one undersized and overpowered vampire that will test the last bit of sanity he has left.
