Chrysalis

Chrysalis

From Brendan Reichs, co-author of the Virals series with Kathy Reichs, comes Chrysalis, the nail-biting conclusion to the Project Nemesis series – a fast-paced, high concept thriller perfect for fans of The 100 and The Maze Runner. 'Twisty and unpredictable to the very last page. I loved this series.' Ransom Riggs, bestselling author of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children The sixty-four members of Fire Lake's sophomore class have managed to survive the first two phases of the Program – and each other. Now, they alone have emerged into the dawn of a new era on Earth, into a Fire Lake valley that's full of otherworldly dangers and challenges. Although staying alive in this broken world should force Min, Noah, Tack and the others to form new alliances, old feuds die hard, and the brutality of the earlier Program phases cannot be forgotten. But being a team isn't easy for the sophomores, and when they discover that they may not be alone on the planet after all, they'll have to decide if they're going to work together . . . or die together.

The first two books of this series were out there (but still entertaining!!). This one went a little too far for me. I was down for all the twists and turns of the plots (and trust me, there were a lot), but when they introduced an ALIEN (for lack of better words)?? I also expected more character development throughout the series. I really didn’t feel like I KNEW the characters like I have in other books. Really, I guess this one wasn’t my cup of tea, but onto the finished pile it goes.

I read the first book in this series when I was in 7th grade, 5 years ago. I couldn't find this book and the sequel anywhere but I had reread the first book so many times. I recently decided to check at my library and I found the sequel and this one. Reading those books has been crazy, the fact that it's finally over is do painful to me. This series honestly means everything to me even though it's extremely different from everything I read. I'm sad it's over but also I finally know what has happened to them.

** spoiler alert ** I had to read this because book 2 left such a massive cliffhanger but I didn’t really want to ? BUT why was it all omg the last people on earth, oops nope there are more people Ooops your actually on a space station OOOOOps actually all of this has been a lie. I feel like the 1st book was for a completely different series and the only character that developed was Noah. The Characters that you begin to get a grasp on in book 2 are pretty much neglected or only mentioned in passing for book 3, at the end when there are only 16 people left I didn’t even recognise all the names so I didn’t find it a satisfying ending AT ALL, I feel robbed
