"Lydia Susi is passionate about protecting wolves in their natural habitat. When a hotel chain develops a tract of land next to the preserve, Lydia is one of the most vocal opponents of the project--and becomes a target. One night, a shadowy figure threatens Lydia's life in the forest, and a new hire at the Wolf Study Project comes from out of nowhere to save her. Daniel Joseph is both mysterious, and someone she intrinsically wants to trust. But is he hiding something? As the stakes get higher, and one of Lydia's colleagues is murdered, she must decide how far she will go to protect the wolves"--

I was really disappointed with this and wasn't able to get too far into it. I really need to stop listening to this narrator, he really just doesn't work for me. I will read this in physical or ebook format in the near future.

it was ok …but I am ready for book 2 So it can all make sense. This was the set up and it took a long time for me to get into the story. Perhaps, this shouldn’t have been my first JR Ward book because I am confused.

It’s been years since I’ve read a book by J.R. Ward and I think this book did confirm why I stopped. I’m just not a fan of the way she writes smut, which is kind of an important part of the genre. It’s disappointing because as before all the smut started I loved this. The atmosphere was impeccable, and I was intrigued, however the third part just disappointed me. I don’t know if I’ll pick up the next book, I can’t commit to another 20+ J.R. Ward book series.
