3.75 stars… this is a great novella. honestly i was watching the “last of us” on tv and was like “yeah i want to read a post-apocalyptic romance” and this hit the spot. it was honestly very tender. the romance was deep and intimate and i loved it??? like most novellas i’ve read, i felt like the ending was a bit … rushed? but the journey was great.

This book is a great place to start if you've never read anything regarding the end of the world. {Don't hold me to that}
I liked the gruff, sunny, and world-building, but I don't understand how the MMC and FMC can have sex without discussing it.
How do you wind up sleeping with someone you've never even had a romantic conversation with or connection to? The whole time, there was a lot of conflict for me.

This book was okay. I was really hoping that the spin-off series to Last Light would be Mack's romance, but sadly it wasn't. Also this book had that miscommunication/pining storyline like in Last Light that I don't like very much. I also just didn't really feel the love like I wanted to. Plus this book mostly takes place in one location so it wasn't as exciting. Honestly, I had high hopes and I was disappointed. However, it was still a fairly decent book given that it was only a hundred pages.
