Heartrending read Beautifully written book about 2 parents with a critically ill child,facing a truly impossible choice. Because they cannot agree about a course of treatment, it is left to an English court to decide their son's future. The rest of the book is reminiscent of the movie Sliding Doors as it follows 2 different scenarios: what might happen in the future after 2 different court rulings. I worked in a PICU for several years, and I advocated for my granddaughter during her hospital stays up to and including her liver transplant stay. The story hit close to home. It is a hard book to read emotionally, but well worth it.

I loved it at the beginning, but half way through it switched formats and the new style did not agree with me at all. I am finding that a lot of authors are changing the style of the book mid-stream and usually not to my liking. This is about two parents who are making medical decisions about their child's health and have opposing views. I am not sorry I read it, but really did not enjoy the final half of the book.

Absolutely loved this book. The characters are so well written and the story flows incredibly well. I was surprised by the After part and I think it was an amazing plot twist. Something different to anything I have read before. So clever. A must read.
