LOVE LOVE this premise, it's so interesting and different from any UF I've read! It's so hard to find UF series that really are completely different from all the others and I think this one does manage to do it. It's very short and the main conflict wraps itself up fairly quickly at the end, but a real solid start to a series I could see myself really enjoying and already can't wait to jump into book2. Ilona Andrew is such an amazing writing duo and feels to me so effortless to start getting invested in their books! Don't know why I didn't think I would enjoy this one but I'm very glad after much hesitation that I finally got to reading it!

amidst the last strain of festivities, studying and even feeling bad (headaches get really nasty) I have managed to finish a pretty captivating book that might not be the best book ever, but it sure is a good start that knowing the autthor will lead to stellar content. Pick it up if you wanna have fun

I liked the book and the series, but it had more world building than character development. I felt I knew more about the world (which is pretty amazing) than what made the characters act the way they do.

2021 - enjoyable, but I'll leave it at 2.5 2018 - That's one silly book...

Very uncomfortable read. SO MUCH ANIMAL ABUSE AND DEATH! The way they were killed was so unnecessary. Premise could be tolerated despite its ridiculous gimmicky nature, but characters were not engaging at all. The only part I liked was Beast before they revealed what she really was. Couldn't even get halfway through this.
