Lewis was an unbelievably wise man. A superlative that you can't apply to most writers in the twentieth century. Some had better style, and some were more "universal", but none were wiser- probably not even Tolkien (though he had a superior imagination). Hoo boy. Lewis' books are an absolute treasure.
