I expected an early 20th century story to treat a grooming story as a triumph, like Lea is so glamorous and everything is framed so cheery in the beginning!! I was shocked to see it turn from “experience woman moulding young men to be gentlemen” to “young men groomed by older woman and stunting his emotional growth.” Collete I should’ve thought higher of you
