It’s been working out okay so far, if you don’t count the occasional gaslighting and unwanted flirtation from him. As clear as I’ve made my feelings during this divorce, he still has hope for us.

He reaches forward and uses his thumb to wipe something off my cheek. I flinch a little, but he doesn’t notice. Or maybe he pretends not to. I’m not sure if he realizes the reaction I have anytime his hand comes near me is a negative one. Knowing Ryle, he probably thinks I flinched because I felt a spark.

His eyes are filled with concern, but one of the waiters pushes through the doors and walks between us, preventing Theo from saying whatever it was he was about to say. 

He doesn’t have to say it, though. “Not saying a word, Theo. Client confidentiality goes both ways.” That seems to reassure him. 

“Good, because if you said something to my dad, I would tell him how cheesy you are with your pickup lines.” Theo mockingly presses his palms to his cheeks.

 “We finally reached the beach, my little whale.” I glare at him. 

“That’s not at all how it went.” Theo points across the kitchen. 

“Look! It’s sand—we’ve reached land!”

“Lily, what the heck, our boat is wrecked!” He’s still following me around the kitchen making fun of me when his dad’s shift ends.

 I’ve never been happier to see him leave.

“Hugs take two seconds, and you’ll sleep so much better. I’ll be back here before they even know I’ve left. What’s your address?” A small grin peeks through her gloom. 

“You’re going to drive five miles just to give me a hug?” 

“I’d run five miles just to give you a hug.” That makes her smile even bigger. 

“I’ll text you my address. But don’t knock too loud; I just put Emmy down.” 

“You know that homework I’m behind on? The family tree?” Josh pulls at his seat belt and begins to fasten it. “They never said how big the tree needed to be. I’ll just draw a baby seedling. They don’t have branches.” He pats the dash. “Let’s go.” I laugh hard at that. I wasn’t expecting it. The way this kid weaves humor into the most depressing moments gives me hope for him. I think he’s gonna be okay. “A seedling, huh?” I start the car and pull on my own seat belt. “That might work.” “I can draw a seedling with two tiny branches. Yours and mine. We’ll be on our own brand-new, tiny family tree—one that starts with us.” I feel heat behind my eyes, so I grab my sunglasses off the dash and put them on. “A whole new family tree that starts with us. I like it.”

what resonated with me the most was the underlying theme of optimism present in the book. even in the darkest moments there was an ever-present feeling that recovery and affection could be achieved. oh this message lingered in my mind and serving as a reminder that regardless of the difficulties we face, we possess the ability to determine our future direction. it was an experience. it challenged me… moved me and ultimately left me feeling hopeful. the emotional depth of the story really hit home for me. ;( there were also moments when i had to pause and just breathe because the emotions were so intense. this book gave me a new perspective on resilience and the complexities of love. ♥️

This book was the ending we needed, but not as great as I expected it to be, it felt like it was an redemption book like it was needed to just finish the happy ending… I still adore Atlas and Lily with all my heart, I wanted to see more of Ryle working on himself, the book was good but could’ve been better.

I almost reread the first book. First of all, if you don't remember or didn't read the first book there are a few trigger warnings such as an abusive relationship, alcohol abuse, attempted rape, cancer, childbirth, depression, domestic abuse (graphic), infertility (brief mention but then resolved), pregnancy, suicide (brief discussion) and violence, jealousy, gaslighting.
Like the first book, we have glimpses from the past throughout the situations that happen in the book, which happens almost the same way, that was happening in the first book, and we have both perspectives from Lily and from Atlas which I enjoyed so much.
In fear that I could not remember something from the first one (It Ends With Us, #Itendwithus). But the book has light ways to bring us memories from past situations. 
I enjoy the Author writing its simple and easy to flow throughout the book, it was extremely fast passed in my opinion I had to stop reading it to make it last longer, so I could have this feeling of being in this world longer, I love Atlas and Lily, they have a special place in my heart.

Lily is dealing with her emotions putting her mother's duties first, and trying to deal with her ex-husband Ryle. She evolves along the book showing confidence and growth possible with the support of others like her mother and sister in law with whom she keeps a lovely friendship, Not only Lily finds challenges but Atlas's life changes have ways, giving him a purpose to fight harder for what he loves, I will end this review just saying that nothing felt cringe in my opinion, which sometimes this is not the case in situations where real but serious topics can be badly portraited. Both books will be easily reread a few times by me.

Honestly, kind of boring. And Atlas is made out to be some kind of hero for doing the bare minimum.

I didn’t enjoy this as much as the first book, but it was cute seeing the love story unfold.

personally, it ends with us was all I needed. but reading this made me happy, seeing lily and atlas’s happy ending has made me so happy. whatever opinions people have on this book, it’s undeniable that everyone would enjoy reading a happy ending and this gave just that :)
