My grandparents lived in Alaska starting in 1939 (Grandpa) and 1950 (Grandma), so I have a frame of reference. There is a lot in this book worth reading, like the parts about people in Eagle, but the political stuff, no so much, especially at this late date (the book was published in 1976).
