i finished this book in one day only wow it’s super fast paced love it!!! this is the book when you just read a very heartbreaking/ heavy/ sad/ complicated book and you just need a cute lighthearted fast paced romance. this is the book. i don’t remember who recommended me this book but whoever you are i just wanna say thank you. 

okay this book is about Sally and Becks. they’re best friends. so basically Sally always went to blind dates because of her mother and her bestie, Hooker. she’s got tired of it so she asked Becks to be her fake boyfriend. WE GOT FRIENDS TO LOVERS AND FAKE DATING. i won. 
what i love about Sally she’s a super big fan of star wars and she’s just so adorable and very dorky. not that type of “wannabe” girls. i adore her. and Becks, i liked him so much. he always be with Sal and protect her you know their friendship is amazing in this book i like it. 

ofc every book has pros and cons but i dont wanna say the cons bcs i enjoyed reading this book BUT i really hope there’s a lil bit of romance more….LIKE I KNOW WE GOT THAT FRIENDSHIP IN THIS BUT I NEED SOME SPICE…..so i gave this book 3.8 rounded up to 4 stars!!

I LOVED THIS BOOK. It was so cute. Shoutout to @isabellakateblog for getting me to read it. :) It was seriously just so true to its name. A little silly, so don’t expect anything like, masterful, but it literally warmed my heart to read. I never got bored with it, and it was a great length, and while there were a couple clichés, it did this trope so well and got me so invested in Sally and Becks. (The names in this book though - Sally Sue Spitz and Baldwin Eugene Chris Kents?! And Hooker??? XD All the random side characters had very unique names too. It was freaking hilarious.) SO worth the read. I could not stop smiling. It was the purest thing, I can’t even tell you. I love how Sally (..Sue Spitz! I still think of her name in amusement…) is a fangirl and Harry Potter obsessed. I’m not a Star Wars fan, but her level of dorkiness where Star Wars is concerned (your girl Sally makes soooooo many awkward references, XD) is just life. Using it to scare away boys… I have to say, I admire you, Sally Sue. All of it had me cackling. The matchmaking schemes?? 

“’Do you…feel anything for me?’ ‘Yes. Friendship,’ I said. 

Dang. Savage, Sally. That guy is something - you can’t read the scene without laughing; he’s “clearly a wackadoo, but a wackadoo with a heart.” 

AND THE CHAPTER THAT OPENS LIKE THIS (sorry for the language): 

“Becks wasn’t happy. ‘What the hell, Sal?’ 
Correction: Becks was pissed.” 

It was a time. The kid is so dramatic - Sally had earlier informed him via a note that she thinks their fake dating thing isn’t gonna work, and he furiously waits by her locker to come at her about it. (Continued): 

“‘How’s it going, Becks?’ I asked. ‘Your ankle any better?’ 
‘My ankle’s fine,’ he said tightly, ‘and I was, too, until about ten minutes ago.’”

WHAT A DRAMA KING. Really, Becks? XD Honestly, he’s my favorite though. @isabellakateblog and I laughed for a hot minute (or two) about all the things he does to receive Sally’s incredibly hard-won affections. I thought the author was good at giving them a healthy relationship yet having each be oblivious of the other’s true feelings. It was a bit of a turn on his part, but I couldn’t not go with it. I was enjoying myself too much.

How does she not realize he’s madly in love with her? It’s not hard. The dude is literally like “here let me volunteer to teach you how to kiss.” Meanwhile, Sally: “it’s too bad he doesn’t love me; siiiiiiigh” 

Ash was a little spicy thing – I kept thinking he was gonna take the charade too far. Becks’s jealousy killed me. It was so amusing watching him want to tear this guy’s head off. The descriptions were fun; so much sexual tension and subtle disapproving body language. 

And her tendency to speak in German when she’s upset??? *claps hand over mouth* That opened up some fun opportunities, which the author utilized. ;)

My heart couldn’t take the part where Becks impresses Sally at the party. I gasped. But my favorite section? The poem. Without a doubt. It still gets me, I have to say. I loved all of this book, but that scene is forever my favorite. I CANNOT HANDLE IT. If you read it, you’ll relate. I know it. Becks is so precious. And I genuinely like Sally. She’s fun. Hooker was quite a character as well. (Why would you go by that though??) 

You want to know something cool about this one?? The whole thing is from Sally’s (clearly subjective to the reader) perspective. But the author gives us a free extra chapter through Becks’s eyes at the end!! Of a crucial moment in the story!! (Hopefully that’s in every version.) Also in the extra content is something you’ll recognize from the middle of the story that I can’t spoil for you (wink wink), and a playlist for the book!! :D How fun! 

So basically, read Adorkable. It is an incredibly rad time, and you won’t regret it.

3.7 i think i read this in the past i just forgot to include this in my read pile i guess lol,,, anyway i liked the first half more bc of the funny, cute, & bff stuff,,, anyway childhood friends to lovers and fake dating,,, some of my fave combos so yeah <3

This is “Adorkable” by Cookie O'Gorman. I honestly adored this book! Sally was so relatable and represented fangirls everywhere. This book made my cheeks burn from constantly having a smile on my face! If you love cute romances this is definitely a book for you! 

“Adorkable” follows Sally Spitz as she struggles with the dating world. After many failed dates and blind dates, Sally decides she needs a fake boyfriend. In comes Becks, her childhood best friend and crush. Becks comes to her rescue and agrees to take up the mantle as her fake boyfriend. How will Sally handle keeping her true feelings from Becks when she’s supposed to act as if she’s in love as any girlfriend would? Find out in “Adorkable”.

Cute read,if you want a cute contemporary this one is for you. Fake dating is cute when its well written, I enjoyed the dynamic and growth in this one!

I've read this book so many times but I still love it and all it's cheesiness. Except for Hooker, I'd realized that she is a horrible friend and I don't support her deliberately ignoring Sally's requests.

I enjoyed it, I can't lie about that, after all the "fake-dating" trope is one of my favorites, but I found myself more times complaining about how lame the main character was than having fun with the story. 
She is painted as a nerd who is way into Star Wars/Trek, Harry Potter and other "nerdy/geeky" fandoms but far from that she has no development. 
Becks didn't have personality, he was the hot guy every girl in school wants, who also happens to be smart and has been friends with our protagonist for like forever. 
And the whole dating situation was just "yikes" also this all happened in what a month? But sometimes it felt like it had been 3 weeks and really it had been a day ?????? 
Also one of the blind dates she has, after five minutes of knowing her, tell her that HE IS IN LOVE WTH HER. Like cmon.... 
The slut shaming in this book was very subtle but it was still there. 
The best friend only appeared on certain points of where her dialogue was needed to move the story forward but if not she would just completely evaporate. And just like Becks, she didn't have a personality, the only thing we know about her is that she loves to play matchmaker for Sally. 
I don't know what else to say... I'm sure a few years ago I would have loved this book but not anymore

I found this read to be a rather fun read. I enjoyed how "fandom" heavy this book was. I really did like the love intreats in this book. I wish this book had also had duel POV and flew through this read. I like sally as a main character and really enjoyed the fake dating group and best friends to maybe something more themes. I really loved the soccor elements as well. I would read more by this author in the future.
