Losing It

This book was actually drool worthy! I loved Garrick and Bliss. I felt VERY bad for Cade, though. I hope he finds a girl of his dreams. 5/5

The Runaway New York Times and USA Today Bestseller! Virginity. Bliss Edwards is about to graduate from college and still has hers. Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, she decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible—a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half a brain would ever believe. And as if that weren't embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theater professor. She'd left him naked in her bed about eight hours earlier. . . .

Annika Arguemore

A cozy yet predictable read. Very collegiate. Loved the hot professor stereotype. Well-written. A tad too mushy at times but nothing a girl can't stomach.

“Sometimes, it’s the scary things in life that are the most worthwhile.”

Losing It was such an interesting story here. I will admit that I bought this on impulse, I haven’t read this series by this author and I have been wanting to. I have dearly missed her writing and I have had the goal to try more new adult romance, especially if it has lower drama. I read the blurb and I knew I had to read this soon because the setup of the story was so fascinating to me. And it’s these types of setups that will work for me with the “Teacher-Student” trope. It’s not very often that this trope will work for me but if it’s written well, then it can definitely work for me. So the setup of this story is that our heroine, Bliss, is wanting to get rid of her virginity and also is feeling pressure from her best friend to have a one-night stand before they start their classes. So Bliss sees this gorgeous man at the bar reading alone and is intrigued, and instant attraction builds between them. They share a night together of course and Bliss escapes and leaves him in her bed eight hours later she sees the man she spent the night with, being her acting professor and now she is in deep trouble because she knows this attraction isn’t going to go away just because their relationship is forbidden.

I danced.

I danced without music. I screamed without sound. I celebrated in silence, in the dark, behind the curtains where no one could see.

I found Losing It to be such a blast of a read and I was so fascinated into seeing these two explore what they had together. I also loved the “Acting/playwright” theme to be so intriguing, we just don’t see this enough in romance. I was also fascinated by the forbidden feel of the relationship between Bliss and Garrick. I just adored these two together. Garrick is such a hottie inside and out. I adore how passionate he is and how he is so encouraging with Bliss. He wants her to embrace her true capabilities in the craft even knowing how difficult the road is ahead for her. I also liked that this wasn’t your typical virgin heroine either. This was such a fun easy going romantic read that worked so well for me and was such a quick sexy read.

Overall I found Losing It to be a fascinating new adult romance that is bound to deliver the sweet and sexy moments and bring to the reader a sense of satisfying joy.

No matter how close, you are always too far
My eyes are drawn everywhere you are.

I’m tired of the way we both pretend Tired of always wanting and never giving in
I can feel it in my skin, see it in your grin
We’re more. We always have been.

Think of everything we’ve missed.
Every touch and every kiss.
Because we both insist.
Resist.

Hold your breath and close your eyes Distract yourself with other guys
It’s no surprise, your defeated sighs
Aren’t you tired of the lies?

Think of everything we’ve missed.
Every touch and every kiss.
Because we both insist.
Resist.

No matter how close, you are always too far
My eyes are drawn everywhere you are.

I’m done. I won’t ignore. I won’t pretend or resist.
I want more.

why did i read this ... other than i knew i wanted to read the book after it and i have this weird thing about trying to read all the companion novels in order. i played myself. this gets a little better than 0 stars because there were funny moments. that's really it. badly written, not interesting, none of the characters were even good ... not even annoying in the end, just disappointing.

This book. Wonderful.

Bliss is a senior in college, in her last semester of school and is still a virgin. She goes out the bar with the sole purpose of losing just that. She meets this smoking guy in the bar, who is reading Shakespeare. Reading Shakespeare in a bar?! Clearly just trying to pick up girls, or just locked out of his apartment.

They chat it up and she ends up taking him home. Things are going great, until she remembers she has to pick up her "cat" and has to leave. Needless to say she remains a virgin.

Walking into her class the next day, Garrick, the Shakespeare reader, is her professor!

"I feel all the furies of desire"

Following them through the semester, we see the struggles of the passionate desires Bliss and Garrick have for one another. They just simply cannot resist. (I wouldn't blame her)

"Like a key into a lock, my body fell into his, fitting perfectly. With my head on his chest, and his arm around my shoulder, I took a deep breath and knew there was no going back"

If you are looking for a light, fun romance, this is the book for you. SO GOOD.

"I loved that moment before. It was the height of anticipation and hope. It was like diving off a cliff, knowing what would come after was terrifying and beautiful and the point of living. That momment...it was addicting."

*****3.5******* I thought it was pretty good but Bliss could be really annoying at times. I also felt their relationship wasn't really well developed.

This book was enthralling and a very addictive read. Although, I have to say the plot lacked depth and didn't quite have the amount of complexity I was hoping for. However I did fly through it and read it all in one sitting because it was such a light read. And a high point is that since it was very character based, the protagonist was well developed which was great to see. But overall even though it was cute it was still a little too cheesy and predictable for me.

At the beginning I was close to putting it down again, as it seemed just like every other generic story and I didn't want to deal with the first scenes.
But after a few chapters I was hooked. I read this book in one day, which is rare for me. I really liked Bliss and Garrick and how they interacted with each other.
At some points I giggled, and others I held my breath.
I guess this is a good introduction into the new adult genre, as it was my first novel in that genre and I am thinking of picking up another one.

All I'm going to say is that this was cheesy af, the protagonist was annoying and ridiculous, and the love interest sounded like a douche. It's a quick read, so if you're going through a reading slump it might help, but other than that, there is nothing I found remotely interesting for me to recommend this. I've read a lot of NA books, some good, some bad. But this, however, was just boring and annoying. I still can't get out of my head how the guy constantly used the word 'love' when addressing the main character. Like, ALL THE FUCKING TIME. I'm done.
