I HATE EVERYONE BUT MARCELLA. THE SHIT SHE WENT THROUGH BECAUSE OF LUCA? CRAZY! listen, luca. i might tolerate you but in this book, I HATE YOU SO MUCH AS MUCH AS I HATE THE BIKERS FOR WHAT THEY DID TO MARCI!!!!!! she's literally carrying the series' name

In this second book of By Sin I Rise Marcella and Maddox are trying to figure out how to combine their two completely different worlds into one. They have the love for each other but he has trust issues with her father and the love for the road and she loves her family too much and wants to prove herself in this world. I honestly did not know how this book was going to progress but was very surprised with this book. This second book I felt like was a lot less plot and a lot more smut. Which was not a bad thing to me. I enjoyed how easy this book was to read and follow along.

2⭐️ As expected, there wasn't a need to write a whole book to finish Maddox and Marcella's story. This book is just Marcella trying to convince her family that Maddox is worth ther approval and that she wants to be with him, and Maddox being a lovebird and just wanting to spend time with Marcella. Also, the whole name thing was so unnecessary ... they have a conversation about it, decided to keep different names and then he takes the Vitiello name because of their kid. I'm not even sure what will happen if Amo ever has a kid as well. Oh well, bonus parts for Matteo and Amo appearances. Curious to see how the next books will be but I'll keep my expectations low.

my thoughts: this did not need to be a two-parter book cora just write a long one and stop with the money grab already, everything felt too rushed, i didn't think i could despise luca more than i already did yet cora proved me wrong again, and honestly good for maddox for yeeting the fuck outta the famiglia as soon as he could, like no offense marcella, but fuck your dad and your brother, he literally owes them nothing lmao i would've done the same thing but i know cora's gonna come up with some lame ass excuse for him leaving like he needed to be his own person/build his own business or money before he could be 100% with marcella. at the end of the day, everything was luca's fault and still he didn't pay a single thing for the consequences of his past actions, maddox should have stabbed him in the eye like he originally intended
