4.5 ★ i think this was my favorite of the series! this is book 4 in the Willow Creek Valley series, but i think it can be read as a standalone. Maren needs to have a wedding. She doesn’t really need the marriage, just the wedding. Her dad is dying from cancer, and his last wish is to walk his daughter down the aisle and see her get married. No problem since her boyfriend proposes and they plan the perfect wedding. Until said boyfriend calls it off the week before. Maren’s family never met said boyfriend, so she has a great solution: convince her college friend who happens to own the resort where the wedding is being held to step in. While Oliver is quick to tell Maren she’s crazy for thinking this will work, he quickly sees just how desperately she wants to give her father this last perfect day together. This book was so cute yet so bittersweet. I loved how quickly Maren and Oliver fell for each other after being around each other for the first time in years. But it was so hard to read about Maren’s father and his final days. Their relationship was so sweet, and I can’t help but think of my own dad when I read books like this (needless to say i called him extra this week). Oliver is used to being people’s second choice, so he struggles to accept the love that Maren has to offer given how they started. Oliver was definitely my favorite of the Parkerson brothers. Ultimately this was such a sweet love story between two selfless people who love super big. Highly recommend!

Fake marriage turned relationship. This was the perfect small town romance between 2 very selfless people. Maren, whose father is dying of cancer wants him to see her get married before he dies and Oliver who does so much for his family but is always the “second” best and never is the “one” in his previous marriages. Maren needs to get married after her fiancé breaks up with her and in comes Oliver. I loved seeing their romance and friendship build in a really simple and just felt very organic. The entire Novel was legit just soooo romantic i cant even stand it but it wasn’t cheesy whatsoever! There were moments that it tugged on my heart strings. I’m giving it a 2.75 on spice because while we did get some amazing moments, dirty talking, descriptive wording and excellent foreplay …when it came to the actual ACT OF DOING IT we got maybe a few sentences. I was told that’s how the author writes smüt so appreciated the heads up. It honestly still was very good. This is part of a series and I’ve only read this one - think it’s manageable as a standalone. Oh and I did this on audiobook because Zachary Webber (Jacob Morgan) HELLOOOOO!!🥵
