Alot better then the first one. Dustfinger is in his Element, farid is learning more and more, meggie who speaks for herself makes miracles happen, the bluejay, the beautiful inkworld, meggie and farids Lovestory... So many amazing aspekts especially the way dustfinger sacrifices himself for farid... breathtaking, really. And heartbraking because he just got back to his dear Roxane. Overall I loved it!

You know, the second book in the series was genuinely a lot more fun to read than the first book. However, I also felt it was a little bit darker than the first book. The first book was dark enough as it was, but this kept that darkness going and one-upped it. I'd give this one 3.5 stars.

I'm really not sure how I felt about the romance arc between Meggie and Farid. For one, the fact that they're in the honeymoon phase of their relationship for the entire book is kind of annoying. There's also no build up to it in the first book. They also happen to be children and not adults, yet the author seemed to lose a lot of that in this book. In this first book, Funke made sure to make her children behave like children. But Meggie, just thirteen, behaves more like a senior in high school. Farid, who has no exact age, behaves much younger than Meggie. Additionally, I felt like it cheapened the relationship they built up in the first book. Imagine how much stronger it could have been if it were simply loyalty to his best friend than romantic interests driving him.

I found a lot of the adult characters to be annoying and trivial in this book. Elinor scarcely has a role and, though she does this in the first book as well, spends every chapter whining about her books being destroyed. Darius was also useless. While Fenoglio was an important part of the book, he spent so much time either gloating or thinking the worst of himself and sulking like a child. Roxane was kind of awful to Farid, even though he only ever helped the man she loved. Obviously, I get that she was jealous, but Farid is a child! She has children of her own. She should know how children are and that you grow to love them, even when they aren't yours. And sure, Farid was spiteful - but he's a preteen! That's how they are!

Ultimately, the world within the book is compelling enough and interesting enough that I will surely get around to reading the third book when I get a chance. The mythology Funke built in this other world is so fun and unusual without breaking the medieval fiction mold entirely. However, this isn't a series I will probably reread once I've finished it.

I would recommend this to people who weren't sure if they liked the first book. That was where I was and I fully believe that Inkspell is a much stronger work than Inkworld.

This is the second book of the trilogy, even longer than the first. The characters find themselves in another dilemma thanks to the book, Inkheart, and many of them are transported to the Inkworld itself. Fenoglio's writing proves to be both a curse and a blessing, and Mo's bookbinding skills save his life.

This book wasn't quite as easy to read as the first one, though there were more emotional scenes in this. It felt like quite a slow read, but thanks to the events toward the end of the book I am still planning to read the final book.

I never really connected with any of the characters emotionally, but I still found certain deaths to be pretty upsetting. The Inkworld was nice to see, too, but maybe not as impressive as it could have been made out to be.

I can't say I was particularly thrilled by this book, but it wasn't bad. 3 stars.

Tintenblut ist die Fortsetzung zu Tintenherz. Als solche führt das Buch die Geschichte um Meggie, Mo, Staubfinger und Farid fort. Während der erste Teil noch in der "normalen" Welt spielte, reisen die Hauptfiguren in diesem Band in die "Tintenwelt", wo das von Fegnolio geschriebenen Buch "Tintenherz" spielt. Dort treffen sie auf neue Freunde, doch auch viele alte und neue Feinde.

Das Buch ist spannend und steht dem ersten Band in kaum etwas nach. Der einzige wirkliche negative Aspekt ist die Tatsache, dass der zweite Band ein paar Längen aufweist, doch die davon abgesehen sehr spannende Handlung und immer wieder einsetzende Wenden im Geschehen lassen einen leicht darüber hinweg sehen. In diesem Band besonders interessant umgesetzt sind die wechselnden Erzählperspektiven, die in Tintenherz zwar auch vorkommen, jedoch bei weitem nicht in so großem Umfang wie in Tintenblut. Der erste Band schilderte die Ereignisse hauptsächlich aus Meggies Perspektive und hat nur ein paar vereinzelte Perspektivwechsel, vor allem gegen Ende. In Tintenblut wechselt die Erzählperspektive nun fast Kapitelweise, springt so zwischen den verschiedenen parallel laufenden Handlungssträngen und ermöglicht tiefere Innensicht in so gut wie alle Charaktere, ein eindeutiger Pluspunkt, der die Spannungsbögen noch vergrößert und für Abwechslung sorgt.

Im zweiten Teil der Trintenreihe, “Tintenblut“ von Cornelia Funke verschlägt es die Protagonisten in das Buch Tintenherz. Nachdem das Grauen um Capricorn vorbei ist lässt Maggie die Tintenwelt nicht los, weswegen sie kurzerhand beschließt zusammen mit Farid in das Buch einzutauchen um Staubfinger und Fenoglio zu finden. Zusammen begeben sie sich auf eine Reise die nicht ganz so verläuft wie sie sich das vorgestellt haben. Ein Grund dafür ist die Rückkehr von Basta vor welchen die Staubfinger warnen wollen.
Ich muss sagen, dass mich der zweite Teil der Reihe leider nicht so mitnehmen konnte wie der erste. Ich weiß jedoch leider nicht genau woran es gelegen hat. Die Welt die die Autorin erschaffen hat ist wirklich wunderbar und man kann sie sich als Leser wirklich gut vorstellen. Jedoch hat mich die Geschichte an sich nicht wirklich überzeugt. Fegnolio war die Geschichte über sehr egoistisch und auch das Verhalten von Maggie war sehr naiv. Diese Sichtweise kann jedoch sein, da ich vielleicht nicht zu der Zielgruppe der Leser gehören für die das Buch eigentlich gedacht ist. Der Schreibstil von Cornelia Funke ist an sich wie auch in dem ersten Buch wirklich angenehm, dass man dem Geschehen gut folgen kann.
Zusammenfassend kann ich sagen, dass die Welt die erschaffen wurde wirklich toll ist, die Geschichte an sich jedoch leider nichts für mich gewesen ist. Bis ich als den nächsten Teil in die Hand nehmen werde, wird es wohl noch ein wenig dauern.

Seit ich 11 bin, nenne ich diese Trilogie, wenn man nach meinem Lieblingsbuch fragt. Als Kind und früher Teenager habe ich sie etliche Male gelesen. Dann folgte eine lange, lange Lesepause und nun bin ich endlich wieder in die Tintenwelt eingetaucht. Ich hatte Angst, dass ich die Bücher nicht mehr so sehr lieben würde, dass mir Makel auffallen würden, die ich als Kind übersehen habe. Vor allem, da auf Plattformen wie Booktube Tintenherz gelobt wird, die folgenden Bände aber eher als enttäuschend empfunden werden.

Trotz all dieser Sorgen und Ängste: ich habe mich endlich an Tintenblut gewagt, and let me tell you, ich liebe es noch immer. Die Charaktere!! Die Welt!! Die verstörende Realität, die magischen Aspekte, alles, alles! Die Charaktere fühlen sich an wie alte Freunde, die ich endlich wieder treffen konnte.

Dieses Meisterwerk hat meine Liebe für Fantasy entfacht und ich kann vollkommen nachvollziehen, wie diese Welt mein Herz erobert hat - und dieses nicht verlässt.

I have always loved Inkheart, but when I originally read it, I didn't have the ability to finish Inkspell or Inkdeath. I am so happy to say that I finally finished Inkspell and loved it so very much.

Some series if you don't finish them when you first read the book, you lose interest in the series or the remaining books just don't hit you like they would have originally. This was not the case for Inkspell. The book is so immersive and atmospheric. The characters are so well developed that they feel real. I love how as the second book in the series it doesn't feel like filler and really takes on its own life that builds perfectly upon Inkheart. Being able to see all the characters from the Inkworld that are spoken of in Inkheart is amazing and fun. 

I am so looking forward to reading Inkdeath and finding out how the story ends. Also fun fact: Brendan Fraiser reads the audiobook and does an amazing job! I loved reading and listening at the same time. His voices were spot on and occasionally took me by surprise how unique each voice was. 100% recommend.

Wow. I absolutely loved this book. Unfortunately, I stabbed myself in the foot because I didn't realize that this is the second book in the series. Now when I go and read Inkheart, the first in the series, I'll have a jump start on where all of the characters end up.

Already I am eagerly anticipating the third book in the trilogy. (Just like the Christopher Paolini book)


Cornelia Funke weaves together such a beautiful fanciful world where words have such profound effect. I cannot imagine what it would be like to live in my own creation. of course, I hope I would have more of a conscience than Fenoglio, the author in this creation.

My heart absolutely broke at the end. I won't say why because that would give away a major plot point for those who might end up reading the book.

I was slightly daunted by the 635 pages but I could not put the book down.

Wow... just about sums up my reaction.

A Quiet Little Library

I enjoyed Inkheart more, but this book has the best Dustfinger moments, so it's close between the two.
