Nicco Ari Duet #1: Verona Legacy, #1

Prince of Hearts

L A Cotton

A new angsty college mafia romance from bestselling author of the Rixon Raiders series. Arianne Capizola is her father’s daughter. Humble. Hardworking. Honest. She’d rather spend her days helping at the local shelter than brushing shoulders with her vain and entitled classmates. Niccolò Marchetti is his father’s son. Dark. Dangerous. Deceitful. He’d rather spend his days getting bloody in the ring than attending class and keeping up pretences. When their paths cross at Montague University neither of them are willing to drop the walls they’ve spent so long building. But he can’t resist the girl with stars in her eyes, and she can’t forget the guy who saved her that night. There’s only one catch. Nicco isn’t Arianne’s knight-in-shining-armor, he’s the son of her father’s greatest enemy. He is the enemy. And their families are at war. *Prince of Hearts in the first book in Nicco and Ari’s duet. Due to mature content that some readers may find distressing, this book is recommended for readers 18+

For someone who disliked Romeo and Juliet retellings, I greatly enjoyed this story. I loved Ari and Nicco from the beginning and I couldn't put it down!

I love dark mafia romance books and this hit all the marks!

Ari is 100% my favorite part of this story and I can't wait to find out the ending to their story.
The Rixon Raiders series is my favorite from LA Cotton but oh my god, this book almost took first place! This book makes me want to give Romeo and Juliet retellings another try but I'm pretty sure none of them will even get anywhere near Prince of Hearts.

I'm not really sure how to get all my feelings about this book across without any spoilers but I love this book and I am so excited for the conclusion!

If you like:
dark romance
mafia romance
forbidden romance

Then this is the book for you! this book is now my standard for Romeo & Juliet retellings

Micol Scalabrino

Modern romeo and juliet set in college

Perfect if you love the boy being all rude and smartass around people but sweet and caring around the girl trope (for your information, I DO)

** spoiler alert **
Lo único que se me ha quedado como incompleto es que no se desarrolló bien un tema muy denso que ocurre casi al final, fue algo muy muy grande y traumático. Esperaba otra tipo de reacción (una reacción más humana).
