I didn't knew what to expect from Angelfire & I must admit I was slightly disappointed at first. I felt I was reading something I have read before and although there were a little too many clichès for many taste, it had it's good parts.

 I liked Will, but there were parts in which I didn't understood him & it formed certain apathy toward him. Sometimes I felt he was great & sometimes I just didn't care him.

But besides the book was great! It consists mostly of heart stopping fights & smoking hot kisses.
 
I loved especially the ending & can't wait for the second book!

I thought in the beginning that this book wouldn't be all that good... Now its blown me away with all the action. I would recommend this to anyone who likes action!!

I'm torn between a three and a four star rating on this. For now I'll give it four stars. In the first few pages I found the book rather "normal". Apparently normal girl sees mysterious guy, learns she has special powers and you know that normal girl and mysterious guy will end up together and squeeze in a bit world-saving in their free time. No surprises there.

Still I liked the story and couldn't put it down. Ellie is a likable girl and while she has her difficulties and fears she stands her (wo)man in a fight. All the same the fighting scenes were always nagging at me some. Considering both Ellie and Will were usually supposed to be in the fights, I got the distinct impression that one just stood around while the other did the work and some of the confrontations would have been over much quicker if there had been more teamwork.

Will. Not sure yet what to make of him but I suppose I like him. In spite of his being a bit too perfect (his protectiveness is also very cute).

I loved how this book had also "secondary relationships", meaning Ellie's relations with her parents and friends. For once the minor characters had some depth. I loved Kate, felt for Landon and liked Ellie's mum. I hope that the next books deal more with Ellie's father, because I would really like to see more depth in that department and perhaps even learn how he got the way he is.

The ending is satisfying even though this is the first book in a series. Although there is a small cliffhanger to keep one interested, it isn't too bad to make the waiting time for the next book unendurable. I'm pretty sure I'll read the next volume in the series once it comes out next year.

I thought this book was very well written! I love books that pull a normal person into the world of the supernatrual and show how bible stories were true. :) it's a great read if you enjoy mythology and action!

Well that was.....that was a book.

I had been super excited for this read, but as soon as the main characters eyes landed on the Obvious Love Interest and she was instantly drawn to him... I knew this wouldnt be for me. The premise is cool but the actual interesting parts of it (Ellie's resurrections and multiple lives, fallen angels, groups of demon fighters, etc) were either down played or under explained that left me really really confused. And it was so loooonnnggg??? Like, the plot honestly walked around itself in so many circles and we never really DID anything. It was just random fight, no character development, Ellie trains, sexually charged moment, repeat. And then the climax happens in such a sudden and random way, I couldnt get into it. I also really couldnt follow who was who and the lore, so I wish that was easier. If your just looking for a good old paranormal romance, heres a book for you. If not, maybe try something else.

I have been reading so many books lately where the main character are reincarnated and it has started to be a little repetitive for me between a bunch of books, but this book had a whole new spin on it and I loved it. 
Ellie is the heroine and she is a warrior that fights demon reapers that still human souls. She is a totally kick butt warrior which I really enjoyed, its nice to seen that a heroine can take of herself for a change. She has a hard time balancing her normal life and super fighting demon killing life!!! Overall I really loved Ellie she makes alot of mistakes in her life that make her easier to connect with but she always comes out better from the experiences. 
Then there is Will!!! At first Will seems a little creepy but then you get to know him and you just can't help falling in love with him. He has been Ellie's guardian for 500 years and has pretty much been in love with her the whole time talk about devotion!!!! The romance is really tense between the two and it takes a while to develop which I love, one of my biggest pet peeves is instalove.
Overall this book was amazing. Courtney does a great job of developing this world that keep me captivated and intrigued through the whole book. I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out!!! I would recommend this book to anybody that loves young adult paranormal books.
