Eight hours on an August Sunday, that's all it took Tropical Storm Irene to destroy hundreds of homes and cause billions of dollars in damages to roads and bridges. This book tells the story through interviews with the survivors of the floods and the thick layers of mud it left behind. Entire communities were wiped out with nearly every house damaged. This is the only book that tells the entire story, which involves three states. In particular the book deals with Prattsvile and Schoharie in New York, Greenfield and Williamstown in Massacusetts and Wilmington, Brattleboro, Woodstock, Waterbury and Rochester in Vermont.
