Crank Palace A Maze Runner Novella
Reviews

Really good book. It made me cry. Can only recommend

3.5/5 — this made me insane and sick and evil. it turned me into the joker. it ruined my life. it changed the trajectory of my life and i will never be the same. i wish i hadn’t read it. i am going to cry and shake and throw up and die and kill myself. 5 stars.

4.5/5 ⭐️ I wish I read this sooner. It gives me so much more comfort after the death cure. It gave Newt a better ending. <3

★★★★½

sadness.

this novella was really good but it was just so sad :( that's not why I rated it lower though, it's more that I wasn't a huge fan of reading about the crank palace and it made me feel like I knew too much. idk I kind of liked not knowing how newt was doing when they didn't know where he was. I did like how we still got the crossover scene with thomas though

** spoiler alert ** I really liked it, but I got emotional at the end. Of course I knew that we'll see page 250 from Newt's perspective, I just wasnt ready for it. James doesnt have the best writting style, but some of his characters are obviously very great. It was very sad for Dante and Kirsha when they had to say goodbye, they were great characters. Beyond everything this is one of the saddest books I've read. I don't cry very often because if a book, but this right here, made me ugly cry. He was going mad for 150 something pages, and it was horrid to read it, the book is great tho, I really just cry to easily from this book. As I like to say Newt is one of the first fictional book character that I've ever had a crush on, even before the movies. Newt's death has always stuck with me, [pretty sure I wont get over it soon], and after the movies everything just got worse. I'd really love to watch a movie adaptation, but even if it doesnt happen, the book will always be one of my favorites. We didn't see a lot of the other characters like Thomas, Minho, Fry and the others, but it was obvious since it was the death cure from Newt's perspective. I didn't thought we'd see some new characters (Kirsha, Dante etc.), but I love them. It's sad that we didnt see much, but from the moment he met them, I just knew that they will be his new family. Kirsha was like a mom to them, or maybe a bigger sister. I really can't give this book less than 5 stars, I can read anything that has to do with the ivy trio or Jorge and Brenda, Gally, Chuck and Alby. Just those character being together, even if it's not action. I'd read it even if they were sitting on a table, eating for 300 pages straight. (keep that in mind.) Overall pretty great book. + the good looking cover.

** spoiler alert ** Sad sad sad sad sad. When I read The Death Cure, I thought it could not get any sadder, but yet it did. The way Newt was as war with himself and how much he loved his found family in Thomas, Minho, Brenda, etc was so powerful. And the final chapter.... 😭

This book was great to see things from newts perspective but i thought is was a bit long and too much details sometimes but I still enjoyed it!
