You know, I was really nervous going into this book. I met Moses in Legend Trilogy and I did not like him. Not one bit. And when Meghan announced that Moses was the anti-hero, I was VERY skeptical. And I was TOTALLY wrong. Boy, was I so wrong. I am or may not be obsessed with Magnolia and Moses. Even now, after finishing their book, I can't stop thinking about them. Magnolia is such a strong, confident, and independent woman who takes no shit and is ready to kick ass when necessary. Moses. Holy shit, this man is delicious. He’s strong, ruthless and protective especially over Magnolia and it truly makes me swoon. And when he calls Magnolia mama, my heart melts into a puddle. EVERY SINGLE TIME! 

This book had me obsessed and reeling in my seat. I truly didn't put this book down until I finished it. The tension, chemistry, and desire between these two is just radiating off the page. Have you ever read anything that literally makes your heart race, in a really good way. That’s what this book did for me. Heart pounding, anxious and surely kept me on my toes. Overall, this book was addictive and so hard for me to put down. I think this is the best Meghan March book I've read so far, hands down. Meghan, you really know how to make me fall in love with all of your characters. I don't know how you do it. Even the most unlikely characters who I think I won't like, I end up loving. This book is a must read! If you love second chance romances and the anti-hero, Creole Kingpin is the book for you.

Lover of Romance 

This was such a FUN duet by the amazing Meghan March. I had such a blast with this book in so many ways and it takes us back to the Mount Trilogy—with the underworld of Lachlan Mount and Kiera and so much so I was tempted to do a re read of their story. If you loved their story and wanted to know Magnolia’s story than read this duet and you will adore it every bit as I did here. I was really drawn into this one here because of many aspects but Magnolia and Moses’ story is so beautiful, yet heartbreaking and real. I really loved a alpha male that has to grovel to win the heart of his woman back. And boy does Magnolia make him work for it which is well deserved and we see what has carved her into the woman she is. And seeing the first half of their story was so touching in so many ways but of course it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger (not as bad as she is known to do at times but it still there—make sure you have book two ready to read )

Meghan March transcended the line from purely romance novel to true suspense in her own unique style without either of the two genres getting lost, which in my opinion as reader is not easy to accomplish. She’s yet again sucked us into her universe seamlessly from the start. As soon as you open this book you’re transported to her New Orleans, not the one in this world, but the one she’s so masterfully created for us to escape to. 

Magnolia Maison was originally introduced to us in Meghan’s beloved, highly renowned Mount series and as soon as I met her in Ruthless King I loved her. You have this force of an antiheroine that is not to be messed with but has a heart of gold she keeps locked away to simply survive. I was THRILLED to see a woman on the dark side bustin’ egos and takin names. We get to see so much of that in this book! When faced with challenge she handles her business and was ready to go, she is no damsel in distress. 

That didn’t mean she doesn’t have a vulnerable side we get to see, enter Moses. The one who showed up 15 years ago in her time of need and then suddenly appears to save it yet again when she needs him most. But a White Knight he is not, nor does she want, a personality like hers needs one equally as dominant if not more. Moses has proven himself as a character to us previously so I was ready to accept him with open arms. Mags not so much.... but Moses knows what he wants and he’s there to prove it, and prove it he does. No doubt about it the fire in him transfers and builds the fire in Mags til it explodes. You will be lit up by their love and loyalty, unable to put this book down yet never wanting it to end.

Totally Addicted to Reading

Creole Kingpin by Meghan March was a brilliant, fast-paced read that had me eagerly flipping the pages. I knew going into this book that I would be in for one heck of a ride, and March did not disappoint. This journey proved more intense than her Legend Trilogy. Her ability to create relatable and likable characters be they good or bad and a captivating and realistic story will have fans eager for more. 

Magnolia and Moses were characters with questionable reputations and persons may consider them irredeemable. After meeting Moses in the Legend Trilogy and learning, he would be the hero/anti-hero of this book, I kept wondering if my feelings towards him would change. He had grown on me, but he had secrets, which made me wary. I loved his protective nature when towards Magnolia and besides, any man willing to die for the woman he loves can’t be all that bad. 

I admired Magnolia, faults and all. Here we have a woman who clawed her way from the slums of New Orleans to make a name for herself as the most infamous madam of New Orleans. Tough and kick ass, she takes flak from no one, especially Moses who had been absent from her life for the past fifteen years. 

The sexual tension between these two sizzled and burned. Fifteen years apart did nothing to douse the flames of their desire for each other. If anything, it made it burn hotter than ever. 

This story had its share of mystery, suspense, drama, angst, humour and swoon worthy moments, which when combined provided an unputdownable read. 

Now all familiar with the author’s work, knows her penchant for shocking cliff-hangers, which leaves her readers champing at the bit for more. Well, Creole Kingpin was no different. The cliff-hanger did not produce the shocking effect I expected, but it sure left me wanting more of Moses and Magnolia’s world. 

Conclusion/Recommendation
Overall, Creole Kingpin was an amazing read which I would recommend to fans of the author and to readers who have never read her books.
